The event, held in collaboration with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, offered a close look at the newly expanded 95,000-square-foot site. The facility will play a central role in engineering, integration, testing and programme management for L3Harris’ missile defence systems.
“L3Harris is ready to deliver next-generation technology that will advance the nation’s missile warning and defense capabilities, in direct support of the Golden Dome for America,” said Rob Mitrevski, President, Golden Dome Strategy and Integration, L3Harris. “We are prepared to accelerate production to meet this national priority.”
The company has committed substantial investment towards strengthening its infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities, including a $250 million renovation across key locations in Indiana, Florida and Massachusetts. This effort is aimed at meeting the increasing demand for space-based missile warning and defence technologies.
In Indiana, L3Harris’ operations are focused on producing advanced infrared sensor systems essential for top-tier missile defence programmes and international civil weather applications. Its recent expansion has tripled the available manufacturing and testing space, enabling annual production of up to 48 sensor payloads.
L3Harris has stated it is fully equipped to deliver critical technologies in support of the Golden Dome for America project. Its current portfolio includes satellites, data links, multi-domain ISR systems, fire-control sensors, and propulsion and control systems for interceptors, forming part of a layered missile defence architecture.
