“Our lineup at DSEI represents military-capable platforms spanning a wide variety of applications, offering a unique product range that supports operations from the base to the last-mile logistics,” said Andreas Svenungsson, President of Volvo Defense. “I’m excited to be back at DSEI, meeting with customers and industry stakeholders to discuss how Volvo Defense’s offer can contribute to strong defense solutions and protect people and societies.”
All products showcased are built on Volvo Group’s Common Architecture and Shared Technology (CAST) platform, which provides extensive technology sharing across trucks, construction equipment, buses, marine engines and generators. This approach delivers availability, streamlined maintenance, lifecycle cost savings and interoperability, factors identified as critical for defence customers.
The military-adapted Volvo FMX has been engineered for both on- and off-road performance in demanding environments. With armoured cab options, integrated communications, excellent visibility and high commonality with civilian models, it offers scalable solutions that benefit from global commercial production capacity.
The Volvo L60H heavy-duty wheel loader will also be presented, featuring a robust frame, optimised drivetrain and multiple hydraulic functions for versatile performance. The machine is designed for long service life, reduced downtime and simplified maintenance with ground-level access points and extended service intervals.
Volvo Penta’s next-generation diesel propulsion package, the D6 DPI, will further demonstrate the group’s maritime capabilities. The 480 hp, 6-cylinder, 5.5-litre engine is paired with a dual propeller hydraulic clutch sterndrive, designed to provide performance, efficiency and reliability for fast-response and tactical craft.
Volvo Defense will additionally display its integration of autonomous systems and anti-drone capabilities. The company said these innovations reinforce its commitment to delivering smarter, safer and more connected defence solutions for global customers.
All Volvo Defense systems and platforms will be available for viewing at the company’s stand in Hall 9 at DSEI, one of the world’s largest defence and security exhibitions, taking place in London from 9 to 12 September.
