ICEYE has launched and deployed five new Synthetic Aperture Radar satellites, lifting off on 26 November 2025 aboard SpaceX’s Transporter 15 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The company confirmed that each satellite has established communication and has begun routine commissioning.

The spacecraft will support ICEYE’s commercial constellation and several national programmes, including the Greek National Space Program, the Polish Armed Forces’ MikroSAR initiative and BAE Systems’ Azalea constellation. ICEYE said the deployment strengthens sovereign capabilities and increases imaging capacity and resilience for governments that need reliable, high fidelity situational awareness in all conditions.

With this launch, ICEYE has placed 62 satellites in orbit for itself and its customers since 2018, including 22 launched in 2025. The company plans further expansion to meet rising global demand for persistent monitoring.

ICEYE has added another fourth generation SAR satellite to its commercial fleet, following the introduction of its first Gen4 spacecraft in September. Gen4 provides up to 16 cm resolution and extends high resolution coverage to 400 km, allowing more images per orbital pass and higher revisit rates to deliver what the company describes as the world’s highest fidelity commercial SAR imagery.

Rafal Modrzewski, CEO of ICEYE, said: “This launch marks another important step both in supporting our customers in deploying their own constellations and scaling the world’s most advanced commercial SAR constellation. As global interest in space-based intelligence accelerates, ICEYE stands ready to help countries build sovereign satellite missions – turning high-quality satellite imaging into actionable intelligence for security and resilience.”

ICEYE stated that Gen4 can be purchased as a fully sovereign capability not subject to ITAR control. The system can be launched, deployed and operated within 12 months and includes the ground segment, full training and continuous software updates.
