Unlike the traditional first-in, first-out (FIFO) tasking model, Tactical Access offers reserved imaging slots, ensuring availability for urgent operations. The service supports both direct downlink through dedicated ground stations and secure cloud-based delivery, offering final imagery within minutes or hours of capture.
Tactical Access users can install an optional in-country ground station equipped with an antenna and ICEYE Edge processor, enabling direct reception and immediate processing of imagery. This setup ensures full data custody for national security purposes, with no reliance on third-party infrastructure.
Alternatively, customers can opt for secure cloud-based delivery, receiving high-resolution imagery within hours after satellite collection. The system provides access to ICEYE’s Generation 4 satellites, which offer resolutions as fine as 16 centimetres and wide-area coverage through Scan Wide mode.
The service also utilises ICEYE’s electronic beam-steering technology, enabling rapid capture of multiple high-resolution scenes in just minutes. A dedicated user interface supports the planning of large volumes of imagery collection, tailored to meet the operational demands of security agencies.
John Cartwright, Senior VP of Data Product at ICEYE, said: “Tactical Access serves the demanding needs of our imagery power users around the globe by breaking the paradigm of the traditional imagery planning and delivery model. We have high-volume national security customers requiring significant planning flexibility and very short tasking planning-to-delivery timelines. Tactical Access is the industry’s best product for these needs, providing access to the industry’s finest SAR imagery with maximum flexibility.”
