Bittium has signed a Basic Ordering Agreement with the NATO Communications and Information Agency, making it a preferred supplier for NCIA and NATO member countries. The agreement enables faster procurement of Bittium’s secure mobile devices, software and accessories based on commercial off-the-shelf solutions.

The arrangement supports NATO’s need to maintain technological advantage and respond to growing cyber threats. It allows member countries to more efficiently acquire approved security technologies through a streamlined procurement process.

“Bittium is a trusted forerunner and supplier of defense and security technologies, and the agreement with NATO further streamlines the ability of member countries to procure our high-quality security solutions. We are very proud of this milestone, as it enables us to support NATO and its member nations in advancing cybersecurity and critical capabilities”, said Tommi Kangas, Senior Vice President of Bittium’s Defense & Security business segment.

The agreement covers Bittium Tough Mobile smartphones and the quantum-safe SafeMove and Secure Call software solutions, which provide encrypted connectivity, secure communications and device management across Android, iOS and Windows platforms. SafeMove also supports hybrid networking and secure interoperability between tactical networks and 4G and 5G mobile networks.

Bittium’s solutions are used by more than 75,000 users worldwide across defence forces, government agencies, law enforcement and critical infrastructure organisations. The NATO-approved Tough Mobile 2 C and the recently launched Tough Mobile 3 use a dual operating system to separate personal and professional use, enabling secure workflows without compromising data boundaries.
