U.S. Central Command said its forces carried out 10 strikes against more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria between Feb. 3 and Feb. 12 to maintain pressure on remnants of the militant network. The strikes targeted ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage sites using precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aircraft.

The latest operations follow five earlier strikes conducted from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2 against an ISIS communication site, a critical logistics node and weapons storage facilities. CENTCOM said the campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt and degrade the group’s operational capabilities.

Operation Hawkeye Strike was launched in response to a Dec. 13 ambush in Palmyra that targeted U.S. and Syrian forces. The attack killed two U.S. service members and an American interpreter.

During two months of targeted operations, more than 50 ISIS fighters have been killed or captured and over 100 ISIS infrastructure targets have been struck with hundreds of precision munitions, according to CENTCOM. The command said the sustained strikes are intended to prevent ISIS from reconstituting and to uphold security in the region.
