AeroVironment (AV) has been awarded a new USD 54.9 million order by the U.S. Army for the production of Switchblade loitering munition systems.

This award raises the overall contract ceiling by an additional USD 743 million, allowing AV to continue its support for the U.S. Army and allied nations, including Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden.

The contract is part of an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity agreement, ensuring a steady supply of the systems through to June 2026. Production will take place in Simi Valley, California, with funding drawn from the U.S. Army’s 2023 and 2024 budgets, along with Foreign Military Sales.
