Arctic Horizons secures $2.1 million contract for Piglet drones

Canadian defence and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) company Arctic Horizons Inc. (AHI) has been awarded a $2.1 million contract for the trial use of its Piglet Medium Unmanned Aircraft System (mUAS) by a law enforcement agency. The contract was secured through the Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) program known as Innovative Solutions Canada, which supports technological development through collaboration with innovative domestic companies.

The contract was secured through the Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) program known as Innovative Solutions Canada, which supports technological development through collaboration with innovative domestic companies.

 

The Piglet system, developed and produced by Arctic Horizons, is an advanced omnidirectional tilt rotor UAS. Renowned for its unique aerodynamic properties, it is tailored for tactical deployment, rapid intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The system’s multi-role capabilities also include humanitarian applications such as search and rescue operations and essential item delivery in difficult-to-reach areas.

With advanced sensors and adaptable technology, the Piglet system promises enhanced operational performance across a variety of environments. This new contract reflects its potential to bolster the effectiveness of law enforcement activities.
