Astor Defence has announced a significant agreement to supply military-grade TNT to US companies Tripwire South LLC and Global Ordnance. The four-year supply agreement, valued at approximately USD 485 million, aims to bolster the US defence supply chain amidst increased global demand for explosives following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The contract will enable Global Ordnance, a rapidly growing US veteran-owned defence contractor, to continue meeting the needs of the US government and other customers. Global Ordnance, along with its subsidiary Global Military Products, supplies various high-quality military equipment, including ammunition, explosives, and mortar weapon systems. The company, headquartered in Florida, boasts over 250 years of combined industry experience.

Astor Defence, headquartered in the UK, is recognised for its extensive expertise in ammunition packaging, components, and propellants. To support this new agreement and its expanding US market, Astor Defence is establishing a major manufacturing, production, and testing facility in Palm Coast, Florida. The facility will focus on producing a wide range of ammunition cans and packaging solutions for small to large calibre ammunition, including spiral wound mortar containers and foam internal packaging. This expansion will allow Astor Defence USA to offer comprehensive packaging solutions from a single source, streamlining the supply chain for its customers.

Tripwire South, the other primary recipient of the TNT supply, is known for its advanced explosive ordnance solutions, serving military, industrial, and defence sectors with cutting-edge products. The company specialises in explosive materials and warhead research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) services. With a focus on safety, performance, and reliability, Tripwire South continues to innovate within the explosive material supply and development sector.
