Babcock joins forces with Korean industry for Canadian submarine programme

By Defence Industry Europe

Babcock Canada has announced technical collaboration agreements with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) and Hanwha Ocean to support the Canadian Patrol Submarine Programme (CPSP).

The agreements were signed during the MADEX exhibition in Busan, South Korea, and are set to bolster the Canadian Department of National Defence’s (DND) efforts in researching technology and procurement options for their next-generation submarines.

The collaboration between Babcock, HD HHI, and Hanwha Ocean aims to leverage their combined experience and expertise in shipbuilding, submarine construction, and sustainment. Babcock, which has been offering critical services for Canada’s Victoria-class boats since 2008, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Royal Canadian Navy’s ongoing and future programs through these agreements.
