British Army confirms successful Boxer Javelin anti-tank guided missile trial, boosting combat capability

By Defence Industry Europe

Earlier this year, Boxer successfully completed its Javelin integration trial. The British Army said this achievement “marks a crucial step towards fielding this powerful anti-tank missile system on Boxer and providing the British Army with the capability to fire Javelin from under armour.”

The Javelin system has been seamlessly integrated with Boxer’s Kongsberg RS4 Remote Weapon Station, supplied by Thales in Glasgow. According to the Army, the integration enhances the vehicle’s combat effectiveness.

The trial forms part of a wider testing and demonstration phase for Boxer. With vehicles now arriving from both UK and German production lines, training is expected to increase in the coming months.

Boxer vehicles are being built in the UK by KNDS UK in Stockport and Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land in Telford. The Army added that the delivery programme sustains hundreds of highly skilled jobs and represents a strategic investment in British manufacturing.
