CNIM signs multi-million deal with Poland for Motorized Floating Bridges

By Defence Industry Europe

French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels has signed an agreement with the Polish defence procurement agency (Armament Agency) to supply advanced motorized floating bridges (PFM), marking a continued collaboration aimed at bolstering Poland's gap crossing capabilities.

The agreement, valued at approximately PLN 1.2 billion (EUR 280 million), encompasses the delivery of seven sets of PFM Motorized Floating Bridges along with a comprehensive training package. The contract was executed between the Polish Armament Agency and CNIM Systèmes Industriels, setting a delivery timeline between 2026 and 2029.

The PFM system is designed to provide the Polish Armed Forces with a cutting-edge solution for wet gap crossing, featuring 700 additional meters of motorized floating bridges. This builds on an initial framework agreement established in June 2022, followed by the first executive contract on August 29, 2022, for the delivery of two sets of Motorized Floating Bridges at a cost of approximately 300 million PLN (EUR 70 million), including a training package and technical documentation.

Manufacturing of the first 200 meters of bridges (task order 1) is already underway at CNIM’s facilities in La Seyne-sur-Mer, southern France. The latest PFM model destined for the Polish forces boasts state-of-the-art tactical and technical features, such as the ability to support the heaviest vehicles (MLC 90T/100W), unmatched construction ease and deployment speed, minimized logistical footprint, and corrosion-resistant aluminum construction. Its high mobility and ease of deployment make the motorized floating bridge an invaluable asset for ensuring safe and rapid crossings for logistical vehicles and battle tanks of all classes, including the advanced Abrams SEPv3 version.
