The agreements cover vehicles from the AM-50 and AM-70 series. Excalibur Army, CSG’s land-systems company, will manage deliveries.
The vehicles allow military units to cross watercourses, trenches and other obstacles. They are designed for rapid deployment and use in difficult terrain.
Richard Kuběna, sales director of the CSG Defence Systems division, said: “The new contracts confirm that there is sustained strong demand for our engineering and support vehicles in international markets.” He added: “Customers particularly value the combination of high off-road mobility, rapid deployment and the ability to create longer crossings depending on the specific operational situation.”
Kuběna also said: “Contracts with customers in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia also demonstrate that our solutions can perform effectively across a wide range of climatic and operating conditions.” The orders expand CSG’s international backlog for engineering and military support vehicles.
The AM-70 EX can deploy a 13.5-metre bridge section within minutes. The system is operated by a three-person crew.
Individual sections can be connected to create longer crossings. Eight sections can span a gap of up to 106 metres, with supports reaching into trenches up to six metres deep.
The AM-50 EX has an MLC 50 load classification. The AM-70 EX is rated at MLC 70 under STANAG 2021.
Both vehicles use TATRA 8×8 chassis for off-road mobility. They have a maximum speed of 90 kilometres per hour.
The systems are designed to work with earlier generations of bridge-laying vehicles. Customers can also request an armoured cabin with protection up to Level 2 under STANAG 4569.
Bridge-laying vehicles form part of CSG’s wider land-systems portfolio. The group also supplies artillery, armoured platforms and specialised logistics vehicles.
