Under a preliminary agreement, CSG Defence, the subsidiary covering CSG’s defence industry activities, will have the option to acquire up to a 49% stake in 4iG SDT EGY Zrt., the company handling the Rába transaction. This would represent an indirect stake of up to 37% for CSG in Rába, with the agreement also granting 4iG rights to sell, assemble, service, and distribute heavy wheeled chassis for military and special-purpose vehicles in Hungary.
“Partnership with 4iG and Rába represents a significant step in our long-term efforts to strengthen the defence industry in Central Europe. By combining Rába’s manufacturing capacities, CSG’s strong industrial base, and Tatra Trucks’ expertise in the development and production of unique off-road vehicles, we are creating a strong industrial foundation capable of delivering modern and competitive solutions not only for Hungary, but also for other markets,” said Jan Marinov, CEO of CSG Defence.
“With the support of CSG, we are opening a new chapter in Rába’s history. The combination of Rába’s nearly 130-year tradition, 4iG’s strategic vision, and CSG’s international experience will enable us to build modern industrial capacity that will strengthen Hungary’s position within NATO and the European Union,” said Gellért Jászai, Chairman of the Board of 4iG Plc.
Rába, founded in 1896 and listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange, is a manufacturer of axles, heavy vehicle components and special-purpose vehicles with decades of defence industry experience. 4iG Group, active in telecommunications, IT, space and defence, is expanding its defence portfolio through subsidiary 4iG SDT to strengthen Hungary’s role within NATO’s defence ecosystem.
