According to the State Department, “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a NATO Ally that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.” It further noted that “the proposed sale will improve Denmark’s capability to meet current and future threats by increasing its combat capability.”

The equipment is expected to be used by Denmark to defend NATO Allies and partners, with assurances that the country will be able to integrate the systems into its armed forces without difficulty. The State Department added that “the proposed sale of this equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region.”
