Rheinmetall has been commissioned by Denmark to supply ammunition under a large-volume framework agreement, with initial orders worth hundreds of millions of euros. The seven-year agreement, marked by a signing ceremony on 30 January 2026, covers several ammunition types for Danish armed forces.

The framework includes medium-calibre ammunition for infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, 120 mm tank ammunition for main battle tanks, and 155 mm rounds for artillery. Initial medium-calibre orders comprise various 30 mm x 173 and 35 mm x 228 cartridges in a high five-digit quantity, with an order value in the low three-digit million euro range.

In addition, Rheinmetall will supply more than 1,000 rounds of 120 mm kinetic-energy tank ammunition, with the contract value in the high single-digit million euro range. Denmark is a member of both the European Union and NATO, and the deal strengthens its ammunition supply under long-term planning.

“We are grateful for the trust Denmark has placed in us for its ammunition supply,” said Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG. “Rheinmetall sees this as confirmation of its role as one of the world’s leading ammunition manufacturers.”
