Destinus has completed its 1,750th Ruta B1 cruise missile, with October 2026 production standing at close to 300 units. The European defence company announced the milestone on 29 October, presenting consistent output as central to meeting armed forces’ stockpiling and replenishment needs.

Both figures refer exclusively to Ruta B1 missiles. They count completed weapons, with no delivery totals disclosed.

“My job isn’t to build one good missile. It’s to make sure we build every one to the same standard,” said Sidney Berndt, Destinus’s chief manufacturing and supply chain officer.

Destinus manufactures Ruta B1’s engine and develops its navigation system in-house. The company also engineers airframes and avionics, using repeatable production processes across its European industrial operations.

“Number 1,750 is a milestone. What matters is the production system that makes the next one possible,” Berndt said.

The Ruta family forms part of a wider portfolio of strike weapons and interceptors developed under a unified architecture. Destinus says that approach is intended for high-intensity operations requiring weapons to be stored, moved and replaced quickly.
