Elbit Systems secures USD 200 million contract for high-power laser defence systems

Israeli defence technology firm, Elbit Systems Ltd., has been awarded a substantial USD 200 million contract by the Israeli Ministry of Defence (IMOD) to supply high-power laser technology for Israel’s “Iron Beam” air defence system.

 

Under this contract, Elbit Systems will deliver its state-of-the-art high-power laser solution, designed to enhance the effectiveness of the “Iron Beam” in countering a wide array of aerial and missile threats. In addition to the technology, the contract includes provision for ongoing support services to ensure the system’s operational readiness and efficiency.

Elbit Systems President and CEO, Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, expressed pride in the achievement, noting the significant advancements the “Iron Beam” project represents. “As Israel’s Laser Center and a global leader in high-power laser technology, Elbit Systems is proud to contribute to the future of defence,” he stated, underlining the importance of these developments for national security.
