Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has announced two new unconditional orders for counter-drone systems with a combined value of $45 million. The contracts include a major order for the company’s Slinger Remote Weapon System and an additional smaller order secured through its United States subsidiary.

The largest agreement, valued at $42 million, covers the supply of the Slinger Remote Weapon System along with cannons, platform integration, spare parts, training and other associated equipment. EOS said the system is intended to strengthen defence capabilities in response to escalating regional conflicts in the Middle East.

The sale has been made to an established customer country in the Middle East through a large defence prime contractor with several major government and export programmes. At the customer’s request, EOS has not disclosed the identity of the contractor or the end user due to national security considerations.

The contract remains subject to customary terms and requires export approvals from authorities in both Australia and the United States. According to EOS, the systems will be manufactured in Australia and are expected to be delivered during 2026.

The delivery schedule may require the company to reassess its production planning for 2026 and 2027. EOS describes the Slinger Remote Weapon System as its market-leading cannon-based counter-drone defence system.

In addition to the Middle Eastern order, EOS Defense Systems USA has recently secured further contracts valued at $3 million for integration into a counter-drone weapon system. The customer, product configuration and end user have not been disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the programme.

The order was placed by a large and established United States defence contractor. The equipment will also be manufactured in Australia and is expected to be delivered during 2026.

EOS confirmed that discussions have continued during March 2026 with several Middle Eastern governments and related representatives regarding advanced counter-drone capabilities. These talks include potential interest in the Slinger Remote Weapon System, the company’s APOLLO high-energy laser weapon range and other systems designed for infrastructure protection.

The company noted that the ongoing military conflict in the Middle East could accelerate potential opportunities for such systems. However, EOS emphasised that there is no guarantee that these discussions will result in additional orders.
