Embraer has signed five Memoranda of Understanding with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and its subsidiaries WZL-1, WZL-2, WSK PZL-Kalisz and WBCKT, setting a framework for long-term cooperation in aerospace and defence. The company said the agreements reinforce its commitment to work closely with Polish industry and support the growth of skilled jobs in the country.

Both sides will now assess cooperation options in areas that include operational support, MRO services, component manufacturing, supply chain work and the design, development and testing of aerospace products. The potential scope may also extend to C4ISR activities as the two groups map out future industrial links.

Embraer has also formalised separate agreements with WZL-1 and WZL-2 covering parts production, certification, technology transfer and emerging technologies, along with the exploration of MRO and painting services for the KC-390 and other aircraft. Additional MoUs with WSK and WBCKT open possibilities for component production, specialised processes, training and the joint development of ground support equipment for the KC-390 Millennium.

PGZ Vice President Jan Grabowski said: “Thanks to the agreements signed with Embraer, the PGZ Group gains a partner who is one of the largest aviation companies in the world. Today’s event confirms that we are ready to establish long-term cooperation, which will translate into increased potential for the Polish defense industry, technology transfer, and the acquisition of new competencies in one of the key areas of the modern battlefield.” Embraer Defense & Security chief Bosco Da Costa Junior added: “At Embraer, the concept of cooperation is part of our DNA. The agreements we signed today lay a solid foundation for a long-term partnership that will effectively place Poland at the center of the industrial ecosystem we are creating in Europe.”

During the signing event, Embraer presented the KC-390 Millennium and highlighted the counter-UAS capabilities of the A-29 Super Tucano. The company noted that since 2019 the KC-390 has entered service with Brazil, Portugal and Hungary and has shown a mission capability rate of 93 per cent and mission completion rates above 99 per cent.

Embraer said the C-390’s payload, speed and range allow it to perform missions that include cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian work. The KC-390 variant has demonstrated refuelling capability both as tanker and receiver, including refuelling from another KC-390 using wing-mounted pods.

PGZ, which brings together numerous production plants, service facilities and research centres, remains central to Poland’s defence sector. The group develops systems ranging from radar and optoelectronics to unmanned systems and armoured vehicles, with products based on domestic innovation and cooperation with global defence partners.
