EOS secures €31 million Slinger system order from European naval customer

By Defence Industry Europe

Electro Optic Systems (EOS), an Australian defence company, has announced a significant new order for its Remote Weapon Systems (RWS) worth €31 million. The contract was secured from a European naval systems integration business and is funded by a Western European government.

The order specifically features EOS’s flagship “Slinger” Counter-Drone Remote Weapon System, configured for naval deployment. The systems will include a range of weapon configurations, with some units equipped with cannons. The package also encompasses spares, training, and additional items to support operational use.

This order marks the largest contract to date for the “Slinger” Counter-Drone RWS and the biggest naval RWS order ever received by EOS. Delivery of the systems is scheduled to take place throughout 2025 and 2026, addressing urgent operational requirements within Europe.

The substantial order is a result of EOS’s intensive marketing and sales initiatives targeting high-growth defence markets. It demonstrates continued global demand for advanced counter-drone capabilities, particularly in the naval sector.

EOS has not disclosed the specific client but emphasised that the order underscores its strategic focus on high-growth markets. The company remains committed to expanding its presence in the defence technology sector, particularly in Europe.
