The Polish defence procurement agency has announced that the final batch of 47 M1A1 Abrams tanks has been delivered to Poland.

With this delivery, the Polish Armed Forces have now received all 116 second-hand M1A1 main battle tanks ordered from the United States under the intergovernmental contract signed in January 2023. The first batch of 14 tanks was delivered six months later.

However, the Polish Armed Forces are still awaiting additional contracted support vehicles. Under the contract, Poland has ordered 12 M88A2 Hercules vehicles, eight M1074 JAB tactical bridges, six M577 command vehicles, and 26 HMMWV vehicles. The contract also includes 120mm tank ammunition and training services.

In April 2022, Poland signed another contract with the United States for 250 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks. This agreement is valued at USD 4.75 billion, and the tanks will be delivered to the Polish Armed Forces in 2025-2026.
