General Atomics has announced the introduction of Quadratix, a new software enterprise designed to unify its technological capabilities. The initiative consolidates software efforts from across its business divisions, aiming to enhance all-domain response and information dominance.

Quadratix will integrate General Atomics’ expertise in various fields, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and autonomy. It will also encompass intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, advanced sensing, cyber exploitation, and space-based operations.

The company’s goal is to promote interoperability across its product lines, offering streamlined solutions for customers. By merging its software workforce under one umbrella, General Atomics seeks to leverage its extensive experience in aerospace and defence technology.

With over 1,000 software engineers and specialists, General Atomics is one of the largest privately held defence companies. The Quadratix platform will enhance collaboration between its divisions, including General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI), Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS), and Integrated Intelligence (GA-III).

One of the key benefits of Quadratix is its impact on unmanned aircraft systems, such as the Predator series developed by GA-ASI. Increased cooperation across divisions will boost advancements in autonomy, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for future defence technologies.

Linden Blue, CEO of GA-ASI, stated that the company has moved beyond standalone software solutions to an integrated approach. He highlighted the importance of responding swiftly to user needs by combining various software capabilities under Quadratix.

General Atomics continues to develop technologies that support global military forces in addressing complex security challenges. The company emphasises the importance of data fusion, real-time situational awareness, and seamless integration between software and hardware systems.

Blue described Quadratix as an end-to-end solution that will provide customers with greater control over information and intelligence. Built on General Atomics’ existing network of systems, the enterprise is set to enhance the company’s position in the evolving defence technology landscape.
