Germany delivers an additional batch of Marder vehicles to Ukraine

The German government has supplied the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an additional batch of 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, along with 20mm ammunition. This brings the total number of Marder vehicles provided to Ukraine by Berlin to 60, sourced from the German Armed Forces and defence industry stocks. Prior to delivery, all vehicles underwent refurbishment by Rheinmetall.

 

Germany remains committed to supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine with equipment. The German defence industry giant, Rheinmetall, recently announced that the German government has approved the export of an additional 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine. Moreover, the German government is financing these vehicles for Ukraine, with the contract valued at a high double-digit million-euro amount.

Rheinmetall is diligently working on refurbishing these older vehicles to ensure the timely delivery of the latest batch of Marder IFVs as per the contract, beginning in 2023, as stated by the German defence company. This order brings the total number of Marder vehicles to be supplied by Rheinmetall to Ukraine to eighty. The initial batch of 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles was delivered to Ukraine in March 2023.
