Germany secures long-term supply of shoulder-fired weapons from Dynamit Nobel Defence

By Defence Industry Europe

The German government has finalised a framework agreement with defence manufacturer Dynamit Nobel Defence (DND) to ensure the long-term supply of shoulder-fired weapon systems for the Bundeswehr. The contract, approved by the German parliament's budget committee, covers the production and delivery of launchers and cartridges for the RGW90 weapon family, as well as cartridges for the Panzerfaust 3 system.

The agreement, signed on 12 February 2025, aims to maintain the Bundeswehr’s operational readiness by securing a steady supply of these essential combat systems over the coming years. The procurement deal will enable Germany’s armed forces to reinforce their capabilities in dismounted combat with effective and reliable weaponry.

DND has emphasised that the framework agreement brings stability and security for both the company and the German military. It allows the defence industry to sustain essential production capacities while ensuring the availability of required materials.

The contract is expected to provide flexibility in procurement while maintaining a steady supply chain for Germany’s military needs. According to DND and the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), this approach strengthens both strategic planning and adaptability in meeting defence requirements.
