The facility will feature Industry 4.0 processes and automated electronic testing to enhance efficiency and quality. It will also support the production of more than 20,000 Indra Park Air radios for the Federal Aviation Administration and manufacture both cooperative and non-cooperative radars.
“With this project, we are successfully advancing our strategic plan to grow in the United States and taking a decisive step to strengthen Indra Group’s position in a highly competitive American market, where we are already among the strongest companies in advanced solutions for civil and military air traffic management,” said José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra Group. “The new facility demonstrates our long-term commitment to industrial and technological development in the United States, to innovation, and to the creation of high-quality jobs.”
Indra’s current site in Overland Park, Kansas—already recognised with the “Made in Kansas” seal—will continue to operate alongside the new facility. Together, they will form a combined hub for high-tech manufacturing in support of the National Air Space system.
The expansion follows a series of strategic U.S. contracts in air traffic management, defence, and mobility over the past year. Indra’s Surface Awareness Initiative (SAI) technology has been approved by the FAA and will be deployed at over 450 control towers lacking situation display capabilities.
Indra also continues to serve as a key technology partner for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. The Air Force has chosen Indra’s systems to replace its Man-Portable Tactical Air Navigation (MP-TACAN) units, which provide vital navigation for both military and civilian aircraft.
