Israel expands use of Camero-Tech’s XAVER 400 to bolster rescue efforts

By Defence Industry Europe

In response to heightened threats of further Iranian missile attacks, Israel’s Homefront Command has significantly expanded the deployment of the XAVER 400 through-wall imaging system developed by Israeli firm Camero-Tech. The system has been actively used over the past week in multiple cities across the country to aid rescue operations following Iranian ballistic missile strikes that led to the collapse of residential buildings.

The XAVER 400 is a compact and robust tactical system designed to provide real-time visibility through walls and barriers, offering critical support to search and rescue teams in high-pressure environments. It employs advanced Ultra-Wideband (UWB) sensing technology and proprietary image reconstruction algorithms to accurately detect and display the presence and location of individuals hidden from view.

Camero-Tech Founder and CEO Amir Beeri highlighted the global importance of the technology, stating, “The XAVER 400 plays a critical role in modern search and rescue missions and is used in nearly 60 countries. When buildings collapse, or people are trapped behind barriers, every second matters. Our system gives rescue teams the ability to see through walls in real-time, helping them locate survivors faster and more safely. It’s not just an operational advantage but a life-saving tool.”

The decision to scale up the use of the system comes amid ongoing hostilities, with Camero-Tech Vice President Ilan Abramovich noting the urgency of the situation. “Since the start of the war with Iran, we have seen repeated missile strikes on residential neighborhoods, with several buildings collapsing as a result,” he said. “In these critical moments, when people may be trapped under rubble or behind collapsed walls, our system gives rescue forces immediate, life-saving visibility. That is why Israel is rapidly expanding its deployment because, in this new reality, every second counts. We are proud to support Israel during this difficult time.”

Established in 2004 and headquartered in Israel, Camero-Tech is a leading developer and manufacturer of radar-based imaging solutions. Its Xaver line of systems is widely adopted by military and law enforcement agencies around the world and forms part of the SK Group, which includes other major Israeli defence and security firms.
