The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) has announced a new all-time record for the country’s defence exports, reaching $14.795 billion in 2024. This marks a 13% increase from the previous year and the fourth consecutive annual record.

More than half of the signed agreements were classified as mega-deals, each valued at over $100 million. European countries accounted for 54% of the total volume, reflecting a significant rise in regional demand.

The data was presented to Defence Minister Israel Katz by IMOD Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram and Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yair Kulas, head of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT). “Israel’s defence exports have more than doubled over the past five years, a testament to the technological superiority and operational effectiveness of our systems,” said Kulas.

Since the outbreak of war on 7 October 2023, Israeli defence industries have operated in emergency mode, simultaneously supporting domestic military needs and fulfilling international contracts. These operational achievements have increased foreign interest in Israeli defence systems.

Missiles, rockets, and air defence systems represented the largest export category in 2024, making up 48% of total defence export value, compared to 36% in 2023. Satellite and space systems also saw notable growth, rising to 8% of total deals from 2% the previous year.

In terms of market distribution, Asia and the Pacific Region accounted for 23% of exports, while Abraham Accords countries represented 12%. North America contributed 9% of the export volume, with Latin America and Africa each comprising 1%.

The majority of export agreements were large-scale, with 56.8% valued at over $100 million. Mid-sized deals between $10 million and $100 million made up 25.8%, while smaller contracts below $10 million accounted for 17.4%.
