Scandinavian electronics manufacturer Kitron has announced plans to expand its factory in Jönköping, Sweden, by adding approximately 6,000 square metres of production space. The expansion is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2025, bringing the total production area at the facility to around 14,000 square metres.

Stefan Hansson Mutas, Managing Director of Kitron Sweden, emphasised the strategic importance of the project, stating: “The activity level is high at the Jönköping factory, and we see growth in relevant market sectors in the coming years. In order to handle the expected growth, we need more capacity, and the expansion is the answer to this need.”

Kitron specialises in electronics manufacturing services across key sectors, including Connectivity, Electrification, Industry, Medical Devices, and Defence/Aerospace. The company operates facilities in multiple countries, including Norway, Denmark, Germany, and the United States, employing approximately 2,500 people worldwide.

In 2023, Kitron reported revenues of €775 million, reflecting its strong position in the electronics manufacturing market. The expansion of the Jönköping factory aligns with the company’s strategy to address growing demand and strengthen its foothold in key industries.
