Kitron to produce electronics for NSM and JSM missiles

The Scandinavian electronics manufacturer Kitron has received an order from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The company will produce the electronic components for the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) and Joint Strike Missile (JSM).

As reported by Kitron, the value of the order is around EUR 25 million (NOK 260 million). The contract was announced by Kitron on January 27.

According to the company, deliveries of the electronics for the NSM and JSM will start in 2023 and continue into 2025.

“Kongsberg has reported high activity related to its NSM and JSM programs, and we are very happy to be chosen as a supplier within this growing market segment. This underlines our long-term collaboration with Kongsberg,” said Hans Petter Thomassen, managing director of Kitron Norway.

In recent months, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed several contracts for the of supply NSM missiles to various users (Norway, Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, and Romania).

Due to many signed contracts, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace decided to build a new missile production facility located in the city of Kongsberg, Norway. The new 25.000 square meter facility will be completed during the summer of 2024.
