Meadowlands is a ground-based system that protects satellite communications by disrupting enemy access and ensuring secure and reliable links for warfighters across multiple operational domains. Ed Zoiss, President of Space and Airborne Systems at L3Harris, said: “Meadowlands addresses growing adversary counterspace threats to provide warfighters with a decisive advantage by temporarily jamming adversary communications during conflict.”
He added: “We’re proud to support current and future customers in enhancing and developing these critical offensive space capabilities to strengthen regional security.” The system builds on the L3Harris Counter Communications System and extends its capacity by jamming a wider range of frequencies while maintaining a compact, mobile design for deployment in shifting operational environments.
The urgency of such capabilities was highlighted by U.S. Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman in his April 2025 testimony to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission. He said: “China’s advancement in space technology, their stated desire to dominate, and Beijing’s disregard for international norms for the responsible use of space make them an incredible danger to U.S. prosperity and security.”
L3Harris said the Meadowlands system will serve as a key asset in protecting U.S. and allied interests in space. It aims to ensure warfighters retain a strategic edge in electromagnetic warfare as threats evolve.
