U.S. Space Force - Defence Industry Europe

Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) and U.S. space transportation company Firefly Aerospace have signed a collaborative agreement to jointly launch satellites with Firefly’s Alpha rocket from the newly inaugurated spaceport at Esrange Space Center in Sweden, starting in 2026. Together, Firefly and SSC are establishing an orbital launch service in Europe with a flight-proven launch vehicle, supporting commercial, civil, and defence customers.

Last week, General B. Chance Saltzman, Chief of the U.S. Space Force, made an official visit to the Esrange Space Centre in northern Sweden.

L3Harris Technologies has received an award of option year five of the Maintenance Of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) program. The contract, worth up to $187 million from the U.S. Space Force, continues the modernization and sustainment of critical space infrastructure enabling the Space Force core competency of space domain awareness. In support of the U.S. military’s space surveillance and command centers in Colorado, California and Virginia, MOSSAIC detects, tracks and identifies deep space objects to provide timely and accurate space surveillance information for military, civil and commercial users.
