The equipment supports maritime surveillance and development of maritime awareness capabilities. It has been provided at the request of the Ukrainian Navy.
“This aid will strengthen Ukraine’s maritime surveillance capability and enable better maritime awareness. The equipment will become an important instrument for Ukraine to protect its territorial waters and security of its people against the devastation of the Russian war,” says Minister of National Defence of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas.
Besides the transferred equipment and gear, Lithuania offers intense training for the Ukrainian military, continues medical treatment and rehabilitation for Ukrainian troops, holds expert-level consultations and contributes financially to international funds supporting Ukraine.
Lithuania has a long-term support plan approved. It is a new EUR 200 million worth package of assistance to Ukraine for 2024-2026.
