The improvement is primarily attributed to the resumption of deliveries of the F-35 Lightning II multi-role combat aircraft, which had been suspended in early 2024. Of the 62 aircraft delivered in the first quarter of 2025, 47 were F-35 Lightning II fighter jets.
Additionally, Lockheed Martin delivered four F-16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 70/72 aircraft, compared to three units delivered during the same period last year. The company also supplied one C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, a decrease from the four delivered in the first quarter of 2024.
In the helicopter segment, Lockheed Martin delivered a total of ten helicopters, which is three fewer than in the previous year’s first quarter. These deliveries included one under a commercial contract and nine under federal contracts.
It is notable that the aircraft order backlog decreased by nearly USD 5 billion compared to 2024. In contrast, the helicopter, mission systems, air-launched weaponry, and fire control systems segments experienced an increase in orders, reflecting growing demand for cruise missiles and air defence systems.
