By Defence Industry Europe

Maxar Intelligence, a leader in geospatial insights, has announced a USD 14.4 million contract with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence (MoD). The four-year agreement will provide the MoD’s Defence Geographic Agency (DGA) with access to Maxar Geospatial Platform (MGP) Pro, supporting mapping, intelligence, and operational missions.

MGP Pro offers on-demand access to high-resolution satellite imagery and analytics in a user-friendly platform. The service includes a 20-year archive of over 125 petabytes of imagery, daily collections featuring WorldView Legion imagery, and tools for satellite tasking, 3D data utilisation, and AI-driven analytics.

The platform will enable the Netherlands MoD to access over 3 million square kilometres of daily imagery at 30 cm resolution, alongside an archive covering more than 6 billion square kilometres. This geospatial data will enhance the agency’s foundational data and derivative products for intelligence and operational purposes.

Anders Linder, General Manager of International Government at Maxar, highlighted the importance of the partnership in addressing global security challenges. He noted that Maxar’s secure and precise geospatial intelligence is trusted by governments worldwide for critical mission support.
