With more than 2,000 Wingman units already deployed in Ukraine, frontline soldiers have reported the growing use of non-traditional frequency bands by enemy drones. Adversaries increasingly shift to lower and higher frequencies to avoid detection and maintain video, command, and data transmission, prompting the need for more comprehensive spectrum coverage.
The WideBand XF Antenna is fully compatible with MyDefence’s Wingman wearable drone detector and integrates with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK). It provides real-time alerts and a live tactical overview, while also functioning as a spectrum analyser to track and identify wireless signals, including those used by drones.
“Our soldiers, and security forces in Ukraine, have made it clear: drones are no longer confined to predictable frequency bands,” said Dan Hermansen, CEO at MyDefence. “From our close collaboration with the frontline in among other Ukraine, we see WideBand XF Antenna as a natural next step. It gives those same frontline operators the expanded spectrum coverage they asked for and the assurance that they can stay one step ahead of enemy tactics.”
MyDefence develops counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solutions for complex radio-frequency environments, with its technologies in use by armed forces and security agencies around the world.
