New mysterious contract for Embraer: undisclosed customer orders Six A-29 Super Tucanos

Embraer, a leading aerospace manufacturer, has announced a firm order for six A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. The order, placed by an undisclosed customer, will be included in Embraer’s fourth-quarter 2024 backlog, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.

 

The A-29 Super Tucano is a light attack and advanced trainer aircraft renowned for its versatility and reliability. The new aircraft will feature enhanced capabilities to support a range of missions, including battlefield air interdiction, close air support, maritime patrol, maritime strike, and territorial defence operations.

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, expressed enthusiasm for the sale, highlighting the Super Tucano’s global appeal. “The A-29 is the global leader in its category because it’s a proven, reliable, and well-advanced aircraft,” he stated.

 

 

Designed as a multi-mission platform, the A-29 Super Tucano offers air forces operational flexibility by combining armed reconnaissance, close air support, light attack, and advanced training capabilities. Its robust airframe enables operations in austere environments, including from unpaved runways.

With over 290 orders and 570,000 flight hours, including 60,000 in combat, the A-29 has established itself as a leader in its class. Recent sales in 2024 include agreements with the Portuguese Air Force, the Uruguayan Air Force, and the Paraguayan Air Force, further cementing its reputation as a reliable and adaptable choice for military forces worldwide.
