Neways has signed an agreement to become SRC’s European industrial partner, providing engineering and manufacturing support to bring the U.S. company’s defense technologies into production in Europe. Its role will cover the transition from prototypes through testing and qualification to series manufacturing.

The agreement was signed on October 15 at the Dutch Embassy in Washington during the NL-US Defense Industry Days. The Dutch state secretary for defense, ambassador to the United States and military attaché attended the ceremony.

SRC develops electronic warfare, counter-drone and protection systems against radio-controlled threats. Neways will combine its electronics engineering and manufacturing capabilities with SRC’s research and military technology expertise.

“Advanced defense technology delivers its full value when it can be produced reliably and in the volumes armed forces need,” said Michiel van der Maat, Neways’ chief commercial officer. “SRC brings deep research expertise and a strong understanding of military requirements.”

“We add our own engineering and technology strength to make their innovations ready for production in Europe,” van der Maat said. Neways designs and manufactures products ranging from microelectronics to complete electronic systems.

The companies intend to expand local industrial capacity, technical expertise and customer support. SRC said the partnership would provide a foundation for longer-term cooperation across European markets.

“This agreement will strengthen European sovereign capabilities by expanding local industrial capacity, technical expertise and in-country support, while establishing a foundation for long-term collaboration across European markets,” said Kevin Hair, SRC’s president and chief executive. “Together with Neways, we will bring defense technologies into production faster, in support of the readiness of the United States and its allies.”

Neways employs more than 2,500 specialists across the Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, the United States, Malaysia and China. SRC is a U.S. not-for-profit research and development company that also manufactures and services defense technologies.
