During the week of 7 October, NSPA successfully processed the very first automated A400M Engine Repair Order through the A400M Logistics Portal System (ALPS).

This milestone marks a significant step in supporting the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation Executive Administration (OCCAR-EA) and the maintenance of TP400 engines built by Europrop International GmbH (EPI).

This milestone followed careful planning, collaboration and dedication, streamlining the repair process across six A400M Nations, Agencies and industry.

“The automation of repair orders is something we have been eagerly anticipating, and it is a significant addition to the support NSPA has been providing to OCCAR-EA in support of the A400M since 2014,” said Michael Schaefer, NSPA Automated Integrated Product Support (IPS) Programme (LN) Programme Manager.

ALPS is a fully integrated, web-based platform built by NSPA to facilitate how A400M maintenance and logistics are managed by users from participating nations, agencies and companies. In addition to ordering spare parts, the system includes features such as Customer Price Lists, electronic Requests for Quotation (RFQs), an Order Management module, and an Invoicing module, accessible through a modern, user-friendly interface.

Beyond technical support, LN provides tailored reporting, shares expertise in Material Management and hosts trainings for the growing ALPS user community.

More improvements are planned in the future, including a Discrepancy Management module and further automation of the quotation process. These enhancements will further streamline the processes with the ultimate goal to reduce the administrative workload of users.
