The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) supports the UK Royal Artillery with the upgrade of their M270 Repair and Recovery Vehicles (RRVs) fleet, through a contract awarded to EKA Limited. The upgrade will cover the redesign, development and delivery of the new MLRS A2 Repair and Recovery Vehicles, NSPA announced on November 28.

The RRVs provide two vital capabilities within the battlefield environment. Firstly, the capability to recover the Multi Launch Rocket System (MLRS) in the event of a failure, and secondly, the provision of a mobile workshop capability that allows launchers to be repaired ‘Forward’ in the operational environment and returned to action in a fraction of the time.

The RRV upgrade is just one of 16 projects that NSPA manages for the UK MoD as they drive forward with the M270 A2 MLRS upgrade programme. The projects range from a Heater, Water and Rations System, to an Enhanced Vision System.
