These deliveries mark the first of 15 P.180 Avanti EVO+ aircraft ordered by the Italian Armed Forces as part of a fleet modernisation programme. The initiative also includes retrofitting several older P.180 aircraft already in service, with one new and one retrofitted aircraft scheduled for delivery by February 2025.
The EVO+ features state-of-the-art aviation technology, including upgraded avionics and new landing gear with advanced anti-skid, braking, and steering systems. The custom configuration was engineered and certified by Piaggio Aerospace to meet modern operational standards and enhance performance.
In addition to the new deliveries, Piaggio Aerospace has already returned an upgraded and re-certified P.180 Avanti I aircraft to the Italian Armed Forces earlier this year. This updated model, now designated the Avanti II+, incorporates many of the same advanced features as the EVO+.
Vincenzo Nicastro, Piaggio Aerospace’s Extraordinary Commissioner, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting the Italian Armed Forces. “These deliveries are a testament to the strong partnership between Piaggio Aerospace and the Italian Armed Forces, as well as our dedication to innovation and excellence in aviation.”
