By Defence Industry Europe

“Germany is the largest economy in Europe, so it should also be our goal to have the strongest and best-equipped army in the EU”, Germany’s defence minister Boris Pistorius told the newspaper “Bild am Sonntag” in an interview.

Boris Pistorius became a defence minister of Germany a few days ago. In one of his first public statements, he stressed that he wants “to make the Bundeswehr strong”.

On January 22, the German newspaper “Bild am Sonntag” published the interview with Boris Pistorius.

In an interview, Boris Pistorius told he would aim for Germany’s military to take the lead role in the European Union.

“Germany is the largest economy in Europe, so it should also be our goal to have the strongest and best-equipped army in the EU. However, this cannot be done in three years, it will take a few more years. My job is now to set the course for the turning point to succeed,” Germany’s minister of defence Boris Pistorius told the newspaper.
