Quantum Systems and blackned partner to enhance battlefield connectivity

By Defence Industry Europe

German defence technology companies Quantum Systems and blackned have announced a strategic partnership to advance the digitalisation and secure networking of unmanned systems in military operations. The collaboration focuses on combining Quantum Systems' multi-sensor unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with blackned’s Tactical Core Information and Communication Middleware.

This integration is designed to support various transmission systems while remaining independent of specific applications. Open interfaces and software development kits allow the seamless incorporation of third-party applications, enabling enhanced flexibility for military forces, including the German Armed Forces.

The partnership emphasises adaptability across manned and unmanned platforms, as well as compatibility with existing systems and diverse mission requirements. This approach aims to establish a new standard in operational efficiency and integration for modern battlefield environments.

Sven Kruck, Co-CEO of Quantum Systems, described the initiative as “a significant step to secure multi-domain data transfer, adding an additional layer of flexibility for military operations.” Dr Joel Langenberg, CEO of blackned GmbH, noted the value of supporting various transmission systems and application independence, ensuring a high degree of operational adaptability.
