Quantum Systems expands drone manufacturing in Ukraine, strengthening European cooperation

Quantum Systems, a leading German drone manufacturer, has welcomed a high-level delegation to its Ukrainian production facility. The visit, led by Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, provided an overview of the company’s growing manufacturing capabilities.

Quantum Systems, a leading German drone manufacturer, has welcomed a high-level delegation to its Ukrainian production facility. The visit, led by Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, provided an overview of the company’s growing manufacturing capabilities.

 

The delegation included key officials such as Arsen Zhumadilov, Acting Head of the Defence Procurement Agency, and Oleksandr Potiy, Head of the State Special Communications Service. They observed the factory’s rapid development, which has achieved significant production capacity in less than a year.

Quantum Systems Ukraine opened its facility in April 2024, following an inauguration by Ukrainian Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyschin and German Minister of Economy Robert Habeck. Since then, the workforce has grown to 80 employees, with plans to expand to 120 to meet rising demand.

The expanded factory will manufacture 400 locally produced VECTOR reconnaissance drones, reinforcing Ukraine’s defence and security capabilities. Managing Director Oleksandr Berezhny highlighted the company’s progress, emphasising that the facility was built as a private initiative without joint ventures or guarantees.

Quantum Systems specialises in AI-powered aerial robotics, developing advanced vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). Its Drone Port solution enables automated aerial intelligence gathering, transforming real-time data into actionable insights.

The company’s technology integrates edge computing and AI-driven data processing, providing operators with rapid, precise decision-making tools. Quantum Systems’ solutions support applications across defence, security, public safety, and commercial industries.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Germany at Special Airport Oberpfaffenhofen, the company operates globally, with locations in the United States, Australia, and Ukraine. Its advanced drone systems are widely trusted, setting new standards in data-driven aerial intelligence.
