The Romanian Armed Forces currently operate Spike family anti-tank missiles.
In 2018, Bucharest decided to acquire Spike ER missiles from the Israeli defence company Rafael. Missiles from this batch were integrated into IAR-330 SOCAT helicopters.
This time, Romania intends to purchase anti-tank weapons from Eurospike, a joint venture of Rafael, Diehl Defence, and Rheinmetall.
According to the Romanian website profit.ro, the international arms trade company Romtehnica already signed a framework agreement with Eurospike.
This framework agreement will be the basis for the new executive contract.
