Coordinated by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the project is co-funded by the European Commission under the European Defence Fund (2023 edition) and brings together a consortium of 12 EU Member States and associated countries. Saab´s participation is co-funded by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and supported by the Swedish Armed Forces.
Spanning 36 months, the project represents a major leap forward for European defence. It will assess current information systems, identify opportunities for capability enhancement, and map synergies between Member States. Furthermore, it will provide an increased level of situational awareness, as well as a reduced risk of false alarms and misinterpretations, to enable a faster and more efficient response.
The Kick-off meeting gathered representatives from 17 entities to officially launch the project. The meeting set the stage for the disruptive and game changing work ahead that will effectively improve the CBRN defence capabilities of the armed forces of the Member States and the EDF associated countries (Norway).
