The Outdoor Trainer is used in instrumented collective training exercises, and for individual users to improve gunnery. Depending on the ammunition selected, the system simulates proximity burst, direct hit and fused ammunition, enabled by Saab’s high-fidelity Compact Ballistic Laser.
The Indoor Trainer is a virtual system that offers unlimited training opportunities through scenarios that instructors can create easily. Sensors provide high-fidelity data and enable immediate feedback of gunners’ performance, weapon handling and ballistics. Gunnery units can be networked together and only require a power source, making this highly deployable and delivering training at the point of need.
This order represents continued investment by the UK Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) in Saab’s live training portfolio through the recently awarded ILT-D contract.
