The first evidence of the Ukrainian military's use of the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) has emerged online. Russians have published footage of the remnants of this type of ammunition, found on 13 February near the town of Kreminna in the Luhansk region.

Saab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hanwha Aerospace regarding the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB). The agreement will examine the potential to integrate GLSDB into the rocket artillery launcher Chunmoo, produced by Hanwha Aerospace.

“With this agreement we are excited to explore how we can bring the long-range precision of GLSDB to current and future users of the Chunmoo launcher. Together these would mean even more great capability is available to those who want a strike capability unmatched by traditional rocket or gun artillery,” says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics.

GLSDB is a long-range precision munition designed to strike targets at distances exceeding 150 kilometres. Saab developed the system with Boeing, adapting the air-launched Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) for ground-based deployment by combining its established capabilities with new launch options.
