“Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure are in breach of international humanitarian law: they are unacceptable and must be stopped immediately,” said UN Assistant Secretary-General Mohammed Khiari.
In a statement on the platform X, EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell called Russia’s actions “barbaric”. There had been “another cowardly and indiscriminate attack on schools, a metro station and a hospital”, said Borrell.
“Shortly before the turn of the year, Russia is once again inflicting terror on the whole of Ukraine,” said the German Federal Foreign Office on X. “More than 100 missiles and drones have destroyed a maternity clinic, among other things, cruelly killing people in the course of their day-to-day lives. In 2024, too, we will not move an inch from Ukraine’s side.”
