Months after Pakistan used a Chinese-made missile to down Indian fighters, US budget requests show the Air Force and Navy may soon receive their own advanced air-to-air weapon: the Lockheed Martin AIM-260. The system has been in development for eight years and is now entering production stages.

According to official budget documents, the Air Force has requested $368.593 million for missile purchases, while the Navy has set aside $301.858 million.
